Junior Tennis

The Woking Junior Tennis programme has long been renowned as one of the best in the region and whatever your age, whether a complete beginner or aspiring top level national, our experienced coaching and competition team will provide expert advice, tailored to help you get the most out of your game.

“We are very proud to have worked extensively with local schools to inspire future generations, with numerous taster sessions now leading to the running of the Woking Schools Tennis Festival each year at the Club. Our experienced Head Coach Mark Wisdom has also been inspirational in taking coaching to the next level, developing countless Juniors to County, Regional and National level, with many taking University scholarships and some even coming back to the club as coaches!

Award Winning

The Performance Programme has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years and was awarded LTA Local Player Development Centre status for 2018-2023 to provide outstanding coaching for kids aged 7 to 10 who are developing a love for tennis, and aspiring to compete at county and regional levels. This was followed by the Surrey Tennis Performance status for regularly producing County Level juniors. Matt Trevail and Jonny Thomson are previous regional LTA Coach award winners, with Mark Wisdom most recently winning ‘Surrey Performance Coach of the year’ in 2020 after completing his LTA Level 5 Master Performance coaching qualification.

Junior Coaching

A full range of coaching services are provided all year round for all junior members and guests from 3-18 years of age, with weekly groups, private coaching, and holiday camps for all levels.

Players progress through the development programme at their own pace, enabling them to enjoy learning, challenging themselves and making the most of our extensive social and/or competitive Tournaments, Team Matches and Competitions.

New to tennis? Beginners are very welcome at the Club from 3 years+ and are usually recommended to start with either trying one of the holiday camps or book in for a free taster session in one of our weekly term-time groups.

Local children aged 5-8years will also often get the chance to try tennis as part of the Woking Schools Tennis Festival or Surrey Youth Games run in June each year, so do remind your school to get involved!
